Hi all,
I've been chasing South Dakota on 12m for years. And I was actually missing only SD on 12m to have worked all states on the 5 upper bands. The last one is always the toughest one, for sure !!!!!
This period of the year is the good one for this area during the hour preceding my sunset. I decided to work some US on 12m for the last few days, working West-Coast and a few W0 between 16:00z to the sunset, at 16:45z.
Even if spotted on the cluster as "needs SD", I couldn't get into SD.
This morning, when I woke-up, I saw an email from Lloyd, WB0ULX, proposing a possible sked there, to try, and to make a hexbeam to hexbeam QSO (we both ownan original Traffie's).
I went out of the office earlier today to be at the shack early enough to maximize our chances. I called a few CQ and heard WB0 calling back. Not sure of the suffix, I asked to repeat and could get Lloyd's call-sign, and could give him a reciprocal 5/5 report. Quite noisy and unstable conditions, but QSO was made, thanks to Lloyd's courtesy.
Thanks a LOT Lloyd, WB0ULX, for this so-longly expected QSO !!!!!
